Duracell batteries leaking11/25/2023 ![]() 15, 2023 I replied to Duracell Gina's request for additional information such as the device's age, Duracell's packaging code, approximate device replacement cost, environmental conditions, storage conditions, battery supplier, etc. I asked if Duracell will "repair or replace" the clock as guaranteed on the back of Duracell's original product packaging. and provided four photos of the leaking batteries and the corroding battery contacts in my clock. I created the case by completing Duracell's online form with all the requested information such as best before date, battery date code, installation date, etc. ![]() 14, 2023 I created online case #****** with Duracell Product Specialist Gina for leaking Duralock ****** AA batteries damaging my ******** ******** ****** ******* Wall Clock. As for what number I called, I just called the number on the side of the battery.Mar. I think you may need to ask for a supervisor. My incident happened about 7 years ago, so I have no idea who I spoke to. So I'd really like to talk to whoever you spoke with as they obviously knew how to provide customers with service. Who did you talk to and what phone number did you use to reach them? The young woman I talked to wouldn't answer a straight forward question: " Where is my unit now?" Prior to asking her, she told me that it was returned to me and then she said it was not and then she said I'd have to call back in 2-3 days while they "research" it. Please help! I am currently having issues with Duracell customer service. Highly recommended if for nothing more than peace of mind. This was absolutely fantastic customer service! I can tell you that from now on I will always buy Duracell batteries. I'm sure that it happens occassionally, considering the billions of batteries that are made each year. It's nice to know that Duracell stands behing their products like this. That's the first time I've ever had a leaking battery damage an appliance. Since the GPS12MAP is no longer made, I included copies of information on similar GPS units and the prices.Ībout 2 weeks later, I received a letter and a check for the full amount of a brand new GPS, including shipping, and a coupon for a package of 16 Duracell batteries of my choice. I packaged the unit up and shipped it to them (at their expense.they even included a postage paid mailing label). She said that within 2 weeks, I would have a package in the mail to send them the unit and batteries. ![]() The very helpful and friendly Customer Service Representative took my information and a preliminary report. The unit was obviously damaged by the leaking battery. I'm very careful about not leaving depleted batteries in appliances, and changing batteries on a regular basis. Thinking the batteries were dead (they weren't when I had used it about 3 weeks before), I opened the case and found that one of the batteries had leaked, and the swelling had actually cracked the case of the GPS. They had an expiration date of March 2014 on them.Ībout 3 months later (I had used the GPS in that time), I took it out to do some caching, and it wouldn't turn on. I put brand new AA Duracell batteries in my GPS. This is to let everyone know about my experience with Duracell batteries (and Proctor & Gamble, the parent company).
